Summary

While the optimal planting density and distances between plants in and between rows in monocultures is well known, in crop mixtures we lack information on the optimal planting pattern to maximise the complementary resource use of species and potential beneficial interactions. In this study, which forms part of a PhD, we investigate the impact of the spatial arrangement and the density of species on crop productivity.
