Common dreams

The rural environment has infinite possibilities to qualify as the best place to live, to reach our ambitions and to see our dreams come true. We think that different options deserve to be explored. Relying on agroecology as a motor for development, our dream is to make Las Corchuelas a source of well-being for the entire community, hosting multiple activities, diverse and independent, working in a coordinated manner for mutual benefit and providing real examples for a respectful and responsible education.

Association

The Aprisco de Las Corchuelas is organised as an association dedicated to education and research in the field of agroecology. We consider it an authentic privilege, and as one of the cornerstones of the project, to be able to offer this combination in which the knowledge created is directly transmitted and practiced in the same place (bylaws). The Aprisco de Las Corchuelas owes its name to the building that is expected to become the center of activities of the association. An ‘aprisco’ is a building where cattle find shelter at night to be protected from rough weather and predators. In this new era of Las Corchuelas the use of our shelter, more than 40 years old, will move on to protect the activities we will carry out towards reaching the objectives we have in mind.

Short-term objectives

  • To facilitate a place where to carry out experiments and field studies in the multidisciplinary area of agroecology.
  • To offer a place where children can develop to their full potential.
  • To spread our enthusiasm and admiration for our environment to those who join and visit us.

Team

There are actually many prepared and motivated people in this world who would like to contribute their interests, strengths and knowledge to promote their own well-being but also the well-being of those around them. Among the Aprisco team members we have a common understanding of what happiness means, namely leaving things better than they were found initially. We are very fortunate with the people who joined us in this adventure so far. And we are aiming at an organic growth of the team, without hassle but without pause, to increase diversity – as we believe in diversity as something good.
